BACKGROUND TO THE BEER & BREWER EXPO
The Beer & Brewer Expo was established in 2009 running from March 19-21, and was created by Beer & Brewer magazine to bring the magazine elements alive in a national event that appeals to the public and trade in separate sessions. The Expo is timed each year to co-incide with the Australian International Beer Awards, the 2nd largest beer awards in the World. With so many brewers and suppliers in Melbourne for the Presentation Dinner, the Beer & Brewer Expo provides a platform for Exhibitors to network with current and prospective customers, and also to demonstrate new products and services.
EXHIBITOR OPTIONS
Given the Beer & Brewer Expo is a 2 part event (trade and public) and reaches 3 key audiences (retail trade, brewing trade and public) we have structured the costs and participation to allow for exhibiting during specific sessions, not requiring you to exhibit at all times.
Larger space has been made available for Australian & New Zealand brewing guilds to share to allow multiple breweries to participate. If ticket sales do sell out prior the Expo, we do have the option to open another session on the Sunday from say 12-4pm, which will only occur with enough Exhibitor support. Note: Please see TASTING SALES at point 7 as we are not taking a redemption from ticket sales (Saturday may see a 90% rebate if liquor licensing require a tasting ticket scenario, which we wont know till post January 1 when the Victorian Liquor Licensing is changed), which means we are covering our costs from your Exhibitor rates and what we receive from entry ticket sales and presentation entry ticket sales *** Want to exhibit/support but can't attend/work the stand? We will be contacting the brewing guilds across Australia & New Zealand to offer space that allows for multiple exhibitors, plus provides the option for brewers/suppliers to simply send in a keg of beer for free, covering site fee, dispense system and staff, for the Expo to then sell and keep all monies received from selling tastings. This option is only available for the public sessions with paid tastings. Space is very limited for this option, so if you are interested please contact us at your earliest convenience to avoid disappointment. ACCOMMODATION PACKAGES FOR EXHIBITORS & SPONSORS We are delighted to have the Swanston Hotel, Grand Mercure and Mercure Welcome Melbourne onboard as our Official Accommodation Partner. This means Exhibitors and Sponsors don't have to worry about finding a suitable hotel to stay in that is affordable and close to the event. The Swanston Hotel is only 5 minutes walk from Fed Square, plus rooms have been discounted exclusively for Beer & Brewer Expo Exhibitors and Sponsors. There are 2 Hotels to choose from, both on the corner of Little Collins and Swanston Sts, Melbourne: The Swanston Hotel, Grand Mercure (4.5 star)$149 incl gst per night, usually at least $189Mercure Welcome Melbourne (3.5 star) $99 incl gst per night, usually at least $149Click here to see the contact details on our web site.
TRADE ONLY SESSIONS - Thursday 20th and Friday 21st May 11am - 4pm
The Thursday trade day is specifically for the retail trade; on- and off-premise. This is an opportunity for Exhibitors to reach the vibrant Melbourne beer buyers and venue managers, plus those that are flying in from around Australia to see the great range of local and imported beers available in Australia. This session will be held in The Atrium. We have Transport Hotel to conduct forums on related topics such as How to Build a Beer List and How to Retail Beer both on- and off-premise. These presentations are a great opportunity for the Exhibitors on the Thursday to supply beer for tasting, to reach your target audience and show the various point of sale and merchandise you offer as part of your sales package.
The Friday trade day is specifically for the brewing trade; brewers, and those looking to start a brewery or beer brand. This will be held at the Young and Jacksons Hotel. We will have the AIBA Exhibitor tasting there, plus the IBD Taste Traning Seminar is still to be confirmed. Sponsors of this session will conduct seminars on topics such as How to Start a Brewery or Beer Brand and the latest products in Hops, Yeast and Malt.
To register now click here. When registering for the Friday brewing session, please ensure you are eother a brewer, home brewer or business looking to start a brewery/beer brand. Suppliers not exhibiting or sponsoring and intending on visiting the brewing session to solicit for business will be asked to leave or not permitted entry. This is for the good of the brewing suppliers paying to exhibit.
PUBLIC SESSIONS - Friday 12-4pm and 5-9pm in The Atrium and Saturday 11am-5pm along the River Terrace
We recommend exhibiting only on the Saturday, or exhibiting on the Thursday (retail trade), Friday and Saturday. We anticipate those exhibiting on the Friday will be exhibiting on the Thursday, and therefore for those wishing to exhibit on the Friday and Saturday only (public sessions), may not have space available on the Friday, as preference will be given to those exhibiting on the Thursday and Friday.***The breakdown of costs are: Friday only $400+gst, Saturday only $750+gst, Friday and Saturday $1150+gst. You are supplied with a 2m x 2m space on the Friday in The Atrium and a 3m x 3m marquee on the Saturday along the River Terrace. You will be supplied with a trestle table, ice bucket, ice, water jug and storage. If you require dispense systems for draught beer, please use your preferred supplier at your additional cost. Any additional furniture etc needed can be hired via Beer & Brewer Expo from our preferred supplier.
SELLING TICKETS
We are selling tickets via Ticketek and BREW Cellar home brew shop stockists. If you are a bottle shop or brewery that is selling Beer & Brewer magazine please contact David Lipman if you would like to sell tickets to the Beer & Brewer Expo in your outlet. Beer & Brewer Expo exercises the responsible service of alcohol and advises visitors to plan on tasting 20 x 100mL samples (approx 7 standard drinks) or less during a 4 hour session. Please note there is ample public transport options to ensure your trip to and from the Beer & Brewer Expo is quick and easy.
