Meet the Brewer, beers and all Head Brewer, Mark Reilly invites all beer enthusiasts to an afternoon encompassing all thing beer, both past and present, at The Old Brewery on Sunday, 14 August, 2-5pm. Beer production recommenced three years ago at the iconic Old Swan Brewery building. The site has a noteworthy history of brewing in WA and nowadays is the most central microbrewery in Perth.
Mr. Reilly will be onsite to discuss the inspiration behind the creation of his award winning handcrafted brews, what is involved in the brewing process, the importance of quality raw materials, the continuing growth of the craft beer segment, as well as details regarding historical components behind the heritage listed Old Swan Brewery building (now home to The Old Brewery Restaurant and Function Centre).
Mr. Reilly stated that “recent expansion has increased output and has allowed me to supply a range of 5 resident brews and a number of seasonal releases”. His current range of hand crafted winter releases include the lusciously malty Crawley Bitter; the robust winter warmer, Treetop Stout and the impressive hop dominated Tomahawk Imperial IPA.
Mr Reilly is an industry advocate who is involved in promoting, protecting and pursuing the growth of the Australian craft beer segment. “There is a strong and vibrant community statewide and nationally that has been developed amongst highly engaged beer drinkers who ‘get’ craft beer. In order for the industry to grow and reach its potential it needs to engage with the broader beer consumer”.
Therefore, if you are an individual that is passionate about beer, would like to acquire information regarding the quality and diversity of craft beer, appreciates local produce, or simply values the benefits of a well crafted beer this event is designed for you! Come and experience the comfortable, riverside setting offered at The Old Brewery for a relaxed, yet informative, Sunday afternoon and absorb what’s on offer at The Old Brewery.
