Clout Stout is a Russian Imperial Stout brewed for the beer connoisseur with the patience to age his/her beer. Poured from the bottle it is black and thick, initially sweet and full bodied before developing into a smooth, bittersweet finish. 10.6% ABV gives Clout Stout huge complexity and depth - each sip warms and hypnotizes the drinker.

Mike Gribble – (www.taste.com.au) This black velvet beauty tastes so good, it'd be a travesty not to send it to the workbench to trial on your most deserving mates. Its flavour explosion kicks into gear under warming alcohol, making a big impression from pour to empty. Its syrupy body gives a shy, shortlived toffee-gold head. It streaks a slick of gold around the glass with its hot-rod astringency. Its rich mouthfeel is dashed liberally with the silken tastes of six malts; roasted barley, crystal, pale, oatmeal, black and chocolate. With just a light chilling, it's bittersweet and complex in a swirl of nuts, dates, coffee, caramel and cocoa. One bottle will make a big impact on four tasters. http://www.taste.com.au/news+features/articles/2013/clout+stout
Andrew Starke – The Shout At 10.6 percent ABV it is not for the fainthearted. “It is brewed to age well,” Stallwood told TheShout. “It has aged in the bottle for over five months on release.” http://theshout.com.au/2010/09/10/article/Clout-Stout-Packs-a-Punch/ADWGLEDFKR.html
Vic Crossland – The West Australian The result is a classy, very black, bottle-conditioned vintage stout that will keep for years. “Imperial” means strong – 10.6 per cent alcohol in this case. The bitterness level of 63 units is also extremely high, but beautifully disguised by the meticulous use of dark malts and rolled oats. http://www.microbrewing.com.au/news/articles/2165-thanks-to-stout-fellows.html
WillieSimpson – The Sydney Morning Herald True to style, Clout Stout has been bottle-aged for five months and pours with a thick tarry texture and minimal carbonation. The sleekly-packaged, heavyweight 750ml bottles sell for $60 each and come in an attractive wooden box. It’s expensive, for sure, but still pretty good value compared to something like the $90 Crown Ambassador Reserve. http://www.microbrewing.com.au/news/articles/2155-the-black-list.html
Matt Kirkegaard – www.brewsnews.com.au Described as “a super-charged Nail Stout” the Imperial version is “brewed with extra everything” and uses six different malts: pale, oatmeal, crystal, black, chocolate and roasted barley. The brewer said only the first runnings were used to provide the most intense concentration of flavour. http://www.brewsnews.com.au/2010/09/nail-brewing-clout-stout/
