CHRISTMAS EDITION

2009: YEAR OF THE BULL!

Ten Years of Great Beers at Holgate Brewhouse

The year is drawing to a close and we once again find ourselves in the midst of the festive season. We’ve parties galore, new beer to celebrate and lots to cheer about. There’s no better time to have a cold refreshing brew than in these hot summer months, and our beer garden is the best place to enjoy one.

Ian, and following his return, Paul & Natasha have all been busy in the States. They’ve been dedicating all their time and effort to experiencing as many beers and breweries as possible. We thank them for all this exhausting work to be able to continually bring you the best brewed beer in the world!

Thank you one and all for your patronage throughout 2009, we’ve had a great ten year celebration that started in January and still hasn’t stopped!

MOVEMBER

HEAR YE, HEAR YE HOLGATES HAS A NEW BEER

‘THE MILD ONE’ 3.5%. A MILD is a style of ale from days of yore and still popular in Britain today. Originally a reward for farm workers at harvest time, it was designed as a ‘restorative’ drink. Easy drinking beer with low bitterness & alcohol but with full-bodied malt character. All of this resulting in a great lunch-time or session ale. Or a nutritious refresher after a hard days work!

INTRODUCING JULIAN

A self confessed ‘home-brewer devotee’ Julian has joined the team at Holgates as our Business Development Manager. Hailing from England and immigrating to Australia 19 years ago, Julian’s background is packed with impressive positions at renowned restaurants and clubs in and around Melbourne. The three things he has missed from England are; the Historical Architecture, the Pubs and the Beer. That is, of course, until he found Holgate’s! Feeling right at home, Julian has settled into concentrating on ‘World Domination’ of the Holgate brand.
