BREWERY OF THE MONTH January 2007 Brewer: Kevin & Andrea Rowland
Established: November 2005 (although the previous 4 years have been all planning and (hic) research!)
Present capacity (brew length): 350-litre (getting smaller every time we look at it!)
Location: Alstonville, NSW (located near Byron Bay, lying between Ballina and Lismore on the NSW Far North Coast)
Beers: Blonde Ale, Pale Ale, Stout and Gold Ale (mid-strength)
Awards: NRBC Stout proudly claimed Best in Class Stout/Porter at the Australian Hotel Beer Awards in September ’06 and then went on to send shockwaves through the festival by being awarded Grand Champion of the Show! No small feat for our little brewery in its first year and entering our very first beer awards with all the big guys!
Where can beer lovers get your beer: Widely available at bottleshops and restaurants throughout the Northern Rivers region. Pale Ale and Blonde Ale are on tap at certain restaurants as well. Just now getting into Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

What is the best thing about your brewery: The good-looking owners! Oh, and I suppose the beer’s not bad either.
Other: Currently in planning stages for big expansion in 2007 that includes a much larger brewing system being installed, the creation of a tasting room and cellar door area for our many visitors to whet their whistles and a new limited edition beer!! A small hint…..watch for the whales this winter!
