Bussell & Dunn TopBrews


Roger Bussell and Hugh Dunn are best described as Australian Beer Guru's. They both have put into the brewing industry in many ways and now are helping home brewers with feedback and creating the Bussell and Dunn TopBrews.

Roger Bussell started his brewing in England before moving to New Zealand and then Melbourne. In 1979 he moved to Swan and left Swan in 1991 as Chief Brewer. He was judge for 10 years at the AIBA (Australian International Beer Awards and was Chief Judge for his last two years. Since 1991 Roger is a brewing consultant and Secretary of the Asian Pacific section of IBD (Institute of Brewing and Distilling). Roger is an honorary member of WABA (Western Australian Brewers Association) for his input into the microbrewing industry. Little Creatures "Rogers" is named after Roger Bussell and Roger Bailey.


Hugh Dunn is now Head Lecturer of Brewing at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia and former brewer at the Old Swan Brewery and working at Lion Nathan allowed him to fiddle about in quite a few breweries, but has really worked for any length of time at Castlemaine Brewery (12 years), Swan Brewery (6 years), Old Swan Brewery (3 years). Hugh is not just known for his brain and beer, but also his palate and taste. Hugh is a former Chief Judge for the Perth Royal Beer Show.
